  Steve Isaac Music

About Steve Isaac...

  As of June 6, 2019...

Steve comes from Richardson Texas, just north of Dallas. He sang in both church and school choirs from the age of 6 including a brief stint in the Houston Boys Choir as a First Soprano in 1967. He got his first guitar on his 13th birthday and began playing in bands two years later. At the age of 27, his last band broke up and he became immersed in other efforts (golf), and didn't pick up the guitar for another 23 years. Married to Donna Hall at the age of 31, he continued to work as a commercial printer for 23 years at Quebecor Inc. in North Dallas until Feb 2002.
In 2002, age 44, he moved to St Petersburg FL following his new job as a commercial printer at Traders Publishing. Later joining Sandy Alexander Inc. As of February 2, 2019, day job days are done and music is his full time pursuit.

At the age of 50, he one day found his (electric) guitars stolen and went out and bought his first decent acoustic guitar. Shortly thereafter he began attending open mics in the area, mostly at Hideaway Cafe on Central Ave in St Pete. Eventually branching out until one day in May of 2012, he was approached after playing a set at the open mic at the long since departed 'Bayboro Cafe', to play his very first paid show. This night also coincided with meeting his 36yr old daughter and 4 yr old grandaughter for the FIRST TIME!
Given up for adoption at birth, they finally connected in Dec 2011 and were to meet the night of that first Bayboro show. Flight connections interfered, but those two days will never be forgotten. Steve and his daughter Stephanie... yep Steph! (who graduated UTexas with a bachelors in Classical Guitar Performance)  have become very close, although she lives on the west coast of Canada. Steph went on to receive her Doctorate of Philosophy in Music at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec in 2017.

After working days and gigging nights for another 6 years, Steve finally let go of the day job and plays out nearly every night in the Tampa Bay area. Steve loves to rethink and cover favorite songs from every decade since the 60's. The only time he quit listening to popular music was in the 80s, and it was truly thanks to Kurt Cobain's Nirvana that he reignited an interest in current music ever since.
Steve has loved Nirvana and most of the Grunge/Alternative rock genre, as well as many progressive rock bands like Kansas, Rush, Supertramp and Genesis (and especially Peter Gabriel), but also some Metal bands like Black Sabbath, Judas Priest and Metallica. Today, Imagine Dragons are a huge favorite.

Steve has also been writing songs since the age of 15. At the age of 61, he has released his first CD, "All Alone". A collection of the best songs of his life so far, some written as many as 40 years ago, some much more recent. His CD is a live recording from a House Concert performed in March 2019 and hopes to serve as a demo to create more dynamic recordings in the near future. You can purchase a copy of the CD on another page of this website.
